BIO

Jamiyla L. Ferguson, also known artistically as Layla, is the CEO, founder, and director of Poem Stellium — an online publication that blends creative writing, mental health, narrative art, and astrology into a healing and expressive platform for the collective. A writer, intuitive guide, and creative soul, Jamiyla is devoted to helping others reconnect with themselves through truth, art, and the stars.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Counselling Integrative Therapy, she brings depth and psychological insight to her work as a relationship coach, relationship astrologist, and seasoned tarot reader — a craft she has honed for nearly a decade. While she no longer offers individual sessions, Jamiyla continues to guide others on a collective level through her writing, teachings, and spiritual insight.
As an author, she has penned two impactful works — Trauma and Dissociation and My Mind of 2020 — which explore inner landscapes, emotional healing, and the lived experience of navigating mental health and personal transformation. Her poetry and songs, shared under the name Layla, carry a rich, resonant tone that speaks to the soul and stirs the heart.
Jamiyla is also a photographer, capturing soulful, emotive moments that reflect her inner world and creative vision. Her photography is an extension of her artistry — rooted in presence, storytelling, and a deep reverence for the beauty found in ordinary and intimate moments. Each frame she captures is a meditation on life, emotion, and truth.
At her core, Jamiyla is a multidimensional creator — a poet, singer-songwriter, spiritual guide, visual storyteller, and space-holder for authenticity and growth. Her work is an invitation to look within, feel deeply, and evolve consciously.
THE JOURNEY DEEPER
Jamiyla has had a natural gift for writing since childhood. Words have always come easily to her, but it was her personal encounters with trauma that deepened her relationship with the page. Writing became more than expression — it became healing. Through poetry and prose, she found a way to process, reflect, and ultimately transform her experiences into something meaningful.
That healing expression led Jamiyla to pursue creative writing more intentionally, gravitating toward poetry and other soul-led ventures that speak to her inner world and collective purpose.
A self-taught astrologer, Jamiyla’s fascination with the stars began as a personal curiosity and soon grew into a dedicated study. What started as a deep dive into birth charts became a lifelong journey through planetary wisdom and spiritual understanding. Her exploration expanded into tarot — initially a tool for personal guidance — and evolved into a medium through which she could channel insight for others, helping them receive the messages they need from the ethereal realms.
Alongside her spiritual work, Jamiyla holds a Bachelor of Arts in Counselling Integrative Therapy. Her ability to blend psychological insight with astrological understanding offers a rare and holistic approach to guidance — grounded in compassion, clarity, and intuition.
“As a child, I was always drawn to staring out of the window and gazing at the stars,” she recalls. “It was as though it was meant to be. I would also religiously read my horoscope in the newspapers — ha!”
For Jamiyla, creative expression isn’t just a skill — it’s a calling. She believes words, images, and emotions hold the power to inspire, to heal, and to connect us. Whether through stories, poems, or photographs, she aims to make a positive impact — by sparking change, illuminating truth, or simply offering a moment of resonance, joy, or peace.
Today, Jamiyla serves as the founder and director of Poem Stellium, an online publication devoted to creative writing, mental health, narrative art, and astrology. Through this platform, she continues to share her gifts daily — nurturing community, elevating voices, and reminding others of the magic that lives in truth and expression.
