Joe Blackman’s Birth Chart: His Astrology and Synastry With Junaid Ahmed

Joe Blackman’s Birth Chart: His Astrology and Synastry With Junaid Ahmed

After looking at Junaid Ahmed’s birth chart, naturally I had to go and look at Joe Blackman’s.

And this is where things became even more interesting.

Joe was born on 14 November 1998. He’s a Scorpio Sun with a Virgo Moon, Sagittarius Mercury, Scorpio Venus and Virgo Mars.

I don’t have Joe’s birth time, so just like my analysis of Junaid, I’m not going to make definitive claims about his rising sign or houses. But there’s still quite a lot we can look at from the placements we do have.

And when I started comparing Joe’s chart with Junaid’s, I immediately noticed how much these two actually have in common astrologically.

Joe and Junaid Share Some Important Placements

Joe and Junaid both have Mercury in Sagittarius, Venus in Scorpio and Mars in Virgo.

Their planets aren’t necessarily conjunct by degree, so I’m not suggesting that simply sharing these signs automatically creates conjunctions between them. What interests me is that some of the fundamental ways they communicate, love and express desire are filtered through the same zodiacal energies.

Both having Mercury in Sagittarius means there’s likely to be a certain directness in communication.

Both having Venus in Scorpio means neither of them necessarily approaches love lightly.

And both having Mars in Virgo gives them a similar underlying way of taking action, dealing with problems and getting things done.

But then we get to their Moons, and this is where their differences become just as interesting as their similarities.

Gemini Moon Meets Virgo Moon

Junaid has his Moon in Gemini.

Joe has his Moon in Virgo.

They’re different Moon signs, but they’re both ruled by Mercury.

That immediately tells me that communication is going to matter emotionally within this relationship.

However, I don’t necessarily think they’re going to communicate those emotional needs in exactly the same way.

With Junaid’s Gemini Moon, there may be more of a need to verbalise what’s happening emotionally. Gemini processes through the mind. Talking, asking questions, exchanging thoughts and hearing something expressed can all become part of emotional processing.

Joe’s Virgo Moon is also Mercury-ruled, but Virgo is earth.

So while Joe may absolutely need communication too, I can see there being more emphasis on what somebody actually does.

Are you consistent?

Did you remember what I needed?

Are you showing up?

Are your actions matching what you’ve been telling me?

There can be a practical expression of care with Virgo that isn’t necessarily satisfied by words alone.

So although both of their Moons answer to Mercury, one may need emotional connection expressed more strongly through words while the other may look for it through behaviour and action.

Same planetary ruler.

Different emotional language.

Joe Has a Lot of Scorpio in His Chart

Joe isn’t just a Scorpio Sun.

He also has Venus, Lilith, Chiron and Part of Fortune in Scorpio.

That’s a considerable amount of Scorpio energy.

And then remember what we found in Junaid’s chart: Junaid has Venus and his North Node in Scorpio.

So Scorpio keeps appearing throughout both charts.

This is one of the reasons I’m interested in the depth of this relationship.

Scorpio isn’t particularly interested in remaining on the surface. It deals with intimacy, vulnerability, trust, merging, power, transformation and the parts of ourselves that aren’t necessarily immediately visible to everybody else.

Both men having Venus in Scorpio particularly stands out to me.

Whatever differences exist between them, there may be something they instinctively understand about the other’s approach to intimacy and attachment.

Their Pisces Connection

There’s another pattern I noticed when comparing their charts.

Joe has Jupiter in Pisces.

Junaid has Saturn in Pisces, as well as his Vertex and Part of Fortune in Pisces.

That immediately caught my attention.

Without their exact birth times, there are parts of the Vertex and house analysis that I wouldn’t want to take too far. But I do wonder what was activated between these two when they entered one another’s lives.

Jupiter and Saturn are very different energies.

Jupiter expands.

Saturn structures.

One says, What could this become?

The other asks, What are we actually going to build?

And considering where their relationship has eventually gone, I find that interaction worth paying attention to.

Opposing Lilith Signs

Then I noticed their Lilith placements.

Junaid’s Lilith is in Taurus.

Joe’s Lilith is in Scorpio.

They’re opposing signs.

And honestly, I find that fascinating.

Taurus and Scorpio already sit across one of astrology’s most intense polarity axes.

Taurus deals with stability, security, possession, the physical world and what we value.

Scorpio deals with merging, intimacy, power, vulnerability, transformation and what happens when we’re forced beyond our comfort zones.

With Lilith occupying opposite ends of that axis between their charts, there can be something provocative about what each person awakens in the other.

And that leads me to probably the most interesting part of their synastry for me.

Junaid’s Pluto and Joe’s Sun

Junaid’s Pluto may conjunct Joe’s Scorpio Sun in synastry.

And when I noticed that, I immediately thought about how their relationship began.

They didn’t like each other.

That’s what makes Pluto so interesting.

Pluto connections in synastry don’t always announce themselves as sweet, obvious attraction.

Sometimes somebody gets underneath your skin first.

They irritate you.

They unsettle you.

You feel unusually affected by them and perhaps don’t completely understand why.

There can almost be a feeling of repulsion before the person recognises the intensity underneath it.

Because Pluto doesn’t really specialise in indifference.

There’s often something happening beneath the surface.

So when I think about two people who initially didn’t like one another eventually becoming romantically involved, falling in love and getting engaged, I’m naturally going to look at a possible Sun-Pluto connection and raise an eyebrow.

Sometimes the question changes from:

Why does this person irritate me so much?

to:

Why am I so drawn to this person?

And apparently, in Joe and Junaid’s case, eventually to:

Should we get married?

Astrology is funny sometimes.

Joe Is Approaching His Saturn Return

There’s another major astrological chapter approaching for Joe.

His natal Saturn is at 28°32′ Aries.

With Saturn currently travelling through Aries, Joe is moving towards his Saturn return, although Saturn has not yet reached his exact natal degree.

The first Saturn return is one of the major maturation periods of adulthood.

It’s often a time when we’re confronted with questions around responsibility, commitment, boundaries, independence and the structures we’re creating for the next stage of our lives.

And look at what’s happening in Joe’s life.

He’s engaged.

He’s preparing for marriage.

He’s moving into a considerably more serious stage of partnership.

I’m not saying Saturn’s return automatically means marriage — it doesn’t.

But commitment becoming a major theme as somebody approaches their Saturn return?

That’s something I’m going to pay attention to.

It will also be interesting to watch what develops as Saturn eventually reaches Joe’s natal degree.

Does Their Astrology Mean They’ll Stay Together?

No birth chart can promise that two people will remain together forever.

And I don’t believe astrology removes human agency from relationships.

Two people still have to choose one another.

They have to communicate.

They have to work through conflict.

They have to grow.

And sometimes two people can have incredible synastry and still decide that a relationship no longer works for them.

But what astrology can help us understand is why certain people affect one another so profoundly in the first place.

And when I compare Joe and Junaid’s charts, I can see several areas where they speak a similar astrological language alongside other placements that could challenge, provoke and transform one another.

They share Sagittarius Mercury.

They share Scorpio Venus.

They share Virgo Mars.

Their Moons are both Mercury-ruled.

Scorpio runs heavily through both charts.

There’s the Pisces connection.

There are opposing Lilith signs.

And then potentially, there’s that Pluto-Sun synastry sitting underneath everything.

Considering these two apparently started out not particularly liking one another and are now preparing to get married?

I find their astrology incredibly interesting.

And I’d still love their birth times, because there’s a whole other layer of this synastry that we simply can’t see yet.
